Trumpets Childcare Centre is a brand-new, purpose built centre specifically designed to meet the needs of the children and families at Citi and the surrounding Sydney community. The centre is conveniently located next to Town Hall.

The Centre

The centre is bright and spacious, with lots of natural light due to large floor to ceiling windows. Each age group has its own play area, including a range of exCiting and age-appropriate toys and equipment to ensure that the children's learning experiences are both fun and educational. The centre incorporates a separate sleep room for the younger children which enables them to keep their individual routines. Trumpets has a variety of active play spaces. The outdoor area includes a large sandpit, a separate play area for the younger children, so they don't have to compete for space, and plenty of age appropriate outdoor play equipment.

Centre programming is designed to meet the needs of children in order to develop:

o Positive self-awareness and emotional security, with an increasing understanding and knowledge of the world around them.

o Social awareness skills that enable each child to trust in others, to share, to cooperate and to develop relationships.

o Intellectual skills - such as learning to reason and to solve problems.

o Creativity - through self-expression, language, music and play.

o Physically - through body awareness, sensory perception and the development of fine and gross motor skills

These goals are achieved through:

o Encouraging children to interact and play together using appropriate language and communication skills.

o One-to-one interactions where staff can explore and support each child's individual interests.

o Small group time to enjoy age appropriate and skill-based activities such as arts and crafts.

o Large group time for planned activities such as music dance or exercise.

o Free play time for children to explore their own environment and engage in activities they choose.

Hours of Operation

The centre opens at 7.30am for parents to enjoy breakfast with their children and care operates from 8.00am until 6.00pm each day. The centre is closed for public holidays and for a period over the Christmas break.
