Hilary Kelly - Research Sales - Equities
" I felt like part of the team and was given real work to do" It was a privilege to work for the largest financial services organisation in the world, alongside the most intelligent and experienced people. By the end of the program, I knew everyone on the trading floor and had the opportunity to learn about their roles. It was not long before I felt like part of the team and was given real work to do. While this work was important, the Intern Program focused on learning and we were encouraged to ask questions, regardless of how basic they seemed. If we could not understand something, our buddies and mentors were there to help us. I also had the opportunity to attend conferences, morning meetings and fund manager presentations. However being an intern is not just about hard work! Each week, all the interns attended a business lunch, where we learned about another division within Citi. It was also a great opportunity to get to know the other interns better and share our experiences. Along with Friday night drinks and a volleyball competition against interns from other banks, I made many friends who will be valuable contacts throughout my career. I now work part-time for the Research Sales team while I finish university. It is particularly enjoyable, not only because of the professionalism of the team, but also their good humour. |
