I started my internship as part of the interest rate trading team at Citi, which is the engine room of Fixed Income. Working in such a fast-paced environment was both challenging and a lot of fun; no single day was the same. From day one I was assisting traders on the short-term interest rate trading desk booking and pricing trades, and even taking my own positions. The culture of the trading floor was fantastic - the people were always approachable and eager to share their knowledge. Participating in weekly trading meetings and chatting with other people on the floor helped me sharpen my trading skills whilst gaining an understanding of the other parts of the business. Now I've been hired as a trader, while studying part-time. It’s an opportunity my friends at university could only imagine. I get to apply the theory I have learnt directly to my trading to make money for the bank. I also have the expertise of some of the best professionals in the country, with knowledge I could never learn in a classroom"
