Summer Internship

Here we want you to explore the banking world so you can develop a true sense of purpose and direction: we offer many ways to help you start your journey. Our summer internships are the pipeline to our graduate programme and will give you a true taste of what we have to offer for the graduate programme. Each business division’s programme starts with structured training, has a buddy or mentor scheme, networking opportunities both across the division and franchise, projects to complete and present as well as real, graduate level work.

Investment Banking and Capital Markets Origination:

Women in Banking Scholarship

The Citi ‘Women in Banking Scholarship’ Applications are now open.

Citi’s Investment Banking group and Global Markets Division are inviting talented female students in their penultimate year to apply for the ‘Women in Investment Banking Scholarship’ valued at $5,000. Funds are to contribute towards course and educational related fees.

Citi defines talent as diverse, career minded, innovative, academic performers with results orientation who strive to achieve.

The program has been launched to promote and support academic excellence in female students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Investment Banking industry.

Opportunities are available in both Sydney and Melbourne and sponsored by Investment Banking and Global Markets.

What is the Scholarship?

  1. The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 and will be payable in two instalments.
  2. Selection for the Scholarship is primarily on the basis of academic merit. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, leadership potential and a genuine interest in the investment banking industry are all taken strongly into consideration.
  3. The Scholarship shall be awarded by Citigroup Pty Limited.
  4. All short-listed applicants will be required to attend an interview.
  5. The Scholarship may not be awarded to an applicant who is currently in receipt of another industry sponsored Scholarship.
  6. The Scholarship is open to female students who are in their penultimate year of undergraduate study. Combined degree students are also eligible, but must be in the penultimate year of the degree (the Commerce component may already be completed).
  7. The tenure of the Scholarship is for one year, and is conditional upon satisfactory academic performance in the final year of the course.

How do I apply?

  • To apply for the scholarship, click here to go to our online application system – you will need to choose whether to apply to the Investment Banking scholarship or Global Markets scholarship, depending on your area of interest.
  • Once you have registered, search for the scholarship in the ‘Vacancy Finder’. Please choose ‘Asia Pacific’ > ‘Institutional Clients Group’ > ‘Summer Internship - Undergraduates / Masters’ > ‘Investment Banking (Australia Scholarship) OR Global Markets (Australia Scholarship)’.
  • You will be requested to submit a cover letter, transcript as well as your recent resume to complete the application.
